Savannah, Ga., August 4, 2016 –The Georgia Historical Society will present Massie Heritage Center with the 2016 Roger K. Warlick Local History Achievement Award in Media for its film Massie School: A Cradle of Public Education.
The presentation will take place this evening, August 4, at 5:30 p.m. at Massie Heritage Center, 207 East Gordon Street in Savannah.
The ten-minute film, created by documentary filmmakers Michael Jordan and Dan Kurtz for Massie Heritage Center, features interviews with former students and a glimpse into Massie’s rich history.
Named for former GHS President Roger K. Warlick, the History Achievement Awards are presented annually to members of the GHS Affiliate Chapter Program in recognition of excellence in programming and scholarship by local historical organizations across the state. Nominations for Warlick Awards are accepted in the fall and winter of each year in the categories of programs, exhibits, archival excellence, and media projects.
