January 4, 2024, Atlanta, GA – Five members of the Georgia Historical Society (GHS) Board of Curators have been honored by Georgia Trend magazine.
Three members were named to Georgia Trend’s 2024 100 Most Influential Georgians list. They include Atlanta business leaders Kevin Blair, Chairman, CEO, and President of Synovus; Kim Greene, Chairman, President, and CEO of Georgia Power; and Venessa Harrison, President, Southeast Coastal States at AT&T.
“This recognition is well deserved, and we are fortunate to have these amazing leaders on our team,” said Dr. W. Todd Groce, President and CEO of the Georgia Historical Society.
Each year, Georgia Trend publishes a list of 100 Georgians who “represent the best qualities of authority, capability, integrity, and influence the state has to offer,” according to the magazine.
Robert L. Brown, Jr., GHS Chairman Emeritus, was also honored by being named to the Georgia Trend Hall of Fame. Brown is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and President of R.L. Brown & Associates. He was appointed by GHS and Governor Brian Kemp as a Georgia Trustee in 2020, the highest honor the State of Georgia can confer.
“Georgia Trend couldn’t have picked a better person to add to its Hall of Fame than Robert Brown,” said Groce. “We greatly appreciate all he has done for GHS through his leadership and influence.”
In addition to the board members on the 100 Most Influential Georgians List, Groce was listed by the magazine as a Notable Georgian. “These are individuals who have also made a significant impact on the Peach State over the years,” the magazine said. Groce has appeared on the 100 Most Influential Georgians or Notable Georgians lists for thirteen consecutive years.
