Andrew J. Cobb was born in Athens on April 12, 1857. He received his education from the University of Georgia and was admitted to the bar in 1877. Cobb served on the State Supreme Court from 1897 to 1907. He served as president of the Georgia Historical Society from 1920-1922. Cobb died in Athens on March 27, 1925 from a sudden heart attack.
