LaPortia Mosley is the Community Engagement Officer at GHS. Her role includes implementing GHS’s History and Race Initiative (HRI) program. Most recently, LaPortia has been a Clinical Instructor at Georgia Southern University’s College of Elementary and Special Education. In that position, she oversaw the student teaching assignments for pre-service educators, acting as a liaison between students, local school districts, and the university. Prior to that, she was a K-12 instructor for more than ten years in the Georgia School Systems of Liberty, Emanuel, Toombs, and Bulloch Counties. She received both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education from Georgia Southern and has an endorsement in ESOL. She is also a contributor to a forthcoming work on culturally sustaining classrooms.
