The Georgia Historical Society presents "Dispatches from Off the Deaton Path," a new short video series from our Senior Historian, Dr. Stan Deaton, the Dr. Elaine B. Andrews Distinguished Historian at the Georgia Historical Society. On Tuesdays and Fridays each week Stan discusses different books, topics, and events as they relate to Georgia and American history.

Many of you and your students may recognize Dr. Deaton as the popular host of Today in Georgia History, a collaboration between the Georgia Historical Society (GHS) and Georgia Public Broadcasting (GPB) that provides audiences with innovative and engaging programming for learning Georgia history. Or you may know him from his popular podcast, Off the Deaton Path where he interviews book authors, homicide detectives, Pulitzer Prize winners, beer lovers, and a host of other interesting people, as well as discussions on books, sports, movies, and more, especially as they relate to American history.
