Emmy Award Winning Host of Today in Georgia History to Live
Stream from Coastal Middle School

Savannah, Ga., September 19, 2014- The Georgia Historical Society (GHS) and Coastal Middle School are inviting students and educators across the state to participate in a live streaming event with GHS Senior Historian Dr. Stan Deaton. The Emmy-Award winning host of Today in Georgia History, will be speaking live from Coastal Middle School in Savannah on Monday, September 22nd, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. discussing the making of Today in Georgia History and the importance of studying the past.

Classrooms and individuals across the state are invited to join the live online event through the Georgia Historical Society YouTube Channel and will be able to submit questions to Dr. Deaton before and during the Q&A portion of the presentation by tagging @GeorgiaHistory on Twitter.

“GHS is excited to connect with classrooms across the state using 21st century tools,” said Sophia Sineath, GHS Education Coordinator. “Students and teachers use Today in Georgia History every day in their classroom, and this live online event is an opportunity to expand on the resources they already enjoy.”
