GHS Board Chair Robert S. Jepson, Jr. Receives J.W. Fanning award from Leadership Georgia

Atlanta, Ga., November 26, 2014 - Robert S. Jepson, Jr., Savannah businessman, philanthropist and Chairman of the Board of Curators of the Georgia Historical Society, was honored with the 2014 J.W. Fanning Award by Leadership Georgia at their annual awards gala in Atlanta.

“The Georgia Historical Society congratulates Bob Jepson as Leadership Georgia’s J.W. Fanning recipient for 2014,” said Dr. W. Todd Groce, President and CEO of the Georgia Historical Society.  “Bob is the embodiment of progressive and transformative leadership and his vision to move people and institutions in a positive direction translates into a better Georgia for all of us.”

The J.W. Fanning Award is presented each year in honor of Leadership Georgia founding father J.W. Fanning to a Georgian whose statewide contributions through progressive leadership and service have been broad in scope and rich in achievement.

Founded in 1971, Leadership Georgia is one of the nation's oldest and most successful leadership training programs for young business, civic, and community leaders with the desire and potential to work together for a better Georgia.
