Pulitzer Prize Winning WWII Author Rick Atkinson Tonight in Savannah

Savannah, Ga., May 20, 2014 - Tonight the Georgia Historical Society will present Rick Atkinson, author of the award winning World War II Liberation Trilogy series, in a conversation with GHS Senior Historian Stan Deaton.

Atkinson is a former writer and senior editor at the Washington Post and is the bestselling author of An Army at Dawn (winner of the Pulitzer Prize for history), The Day of Battle, The Long Gray Line, In the Company of Soldiers, and Crusade.  His many other awards include a Pulitzer Prize for journalism, the George Polk Award, and the Pritzker Military Library Literature Award.
